Nightcrawler, seeking a relaxing weekend, finds himself in a precarious situation when his plane crashes on a less-than-tropical island. As he teleports out of the wreckage, he discovers a mysterious land adorned with giant stone busts of the X-Men, including himself. A lady in distress leads him to a volcano where she is about to be sacrificed. Nightcrawler intervenes, but weakened from multiple teleports, he tumbles into the volcano with her. Inside, they encounter the Son of Krakoa, Vega-Superior, who seeks vengeance for his father’s death. The issue unfolds with ancient pictograms, cosmic energies, and a battle that transcends reality, all beautifully illustrated by David Ross and Al Milgrom.  Used.
