Daredevil #283 is a comic book published by Marvel Comics in 1990. The issue is titled “The American Nightmare” and was written by Ann Nocenti with art by Mark Bagley, Al Williamson, and Tom Morgan. The story features Daredevil and Captain America teaming up to help a small town inventor who dreams of his amazing creations. The inventor is Victor Cieszkowska andjoined by his wife, Nora Cieszkowska. The issue also features appearances by Gorgon, Karnak, Pope, and Number Nine.

Daredevil and Captain America try to help Victor Cieszkowska, who is being targeted by a group of assassins. The assassins are after Victor’s latest invention, which they believe will give them an edge in their criminal activities. Daredevil and Captain America must protect Victor and his invention while also dealing with the assassins and their leader, Gorgon  Used.
