Batman Legends of the Dark Knight #16 is a comic book published by DC Comics in March 1991. The issue is titled “Venom: Part 1” and is written by Dennis O’Neil, with Trevor von Eeden as the penciler, Russell Braun as the inker, and Steve Oliff as the colorist.

In this issue, Batman fails to save the life of a young girl held for ransom and decides to try a new experimental steroid-drug designed by her father called Venom. The drug enhances his strength, but also has dangerous side effects. Batman finds himself on a dangerous path between who he is and the monster he could become. The issue marks the first appearance of the “Venom” drug-steroid, which was later used by Bane.  Used.
