Issue #216 of Uncanny X-Men was published in April 1987. The story is titled “Crucible” and is written by Chris Claremont. The issue features the X-Men, including Storm, Wolverine, Rogue, Psylocke, Dazzler, and Longshot, who are recovering from the recent Marauders attack. Storm is being hunted by the old World War II heroes Crimson Commando, Stonewall, and Super Sabre. Running for her life along with young drug dealer Priscilla Morrison, Storm has set up a trap for Super Sabre with a spool of fishing line she managed to find. Setting a snare across the dirt road, the two hide out in the bush to wait for the super-fast hero to run by so that Storm can decapitate him as he passes. However, after she shows the trap to Priscilla, Storm notes the young girl’s remorselessness and realizes that what she is doing is more along the line of Wolverine’s tactics than her own and wonders if she can bring herself to go that far and slay another human being for her own survival.  Used.
