The issue opens with the Fantastic Four finding themselves on Counter-Earth, a parallel world created by the enigmatic High Evolutionary. Their mission: prevent Galactus—the devourer of worlds—from consuming this alternate Earth.
The Thing (Ben Grimm) and his wife, Alicia Masters, join forces with Johnny Storm (the Human Torch) and Crystal. Together, they unravel the mystery behind Counter-Earth’s impending doom. The stakes are high, as Galactus looms like an insatiable cosmic force.
The team’s struggle is not only against Galactus but also against their own vulnerabilities. Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) experiments tirelessly to reverse Ben’s rocky transformation, while Sue Richards (Invisible Woman) confronts strange energy creatures in New York City.
The High Evolutionary’s creation, a New Man named Gorr, seeks the Fantastic Four’s aid. He believes they can prevent Galactus’s feast on Counter-Earth. But there’s a twist: the team is caught in a time loop, their actions predetermined.
