Though it makes use of the same green coffee as our Decaf Majestic, our Decaf French roast is roasted with a longer and slower profile to maximize development of its dominant flavor characteristics of dark malt, chocolate and mulling spices.

The result is a delicious cup which fans of roast-driven flavors are sure to enjoy. Decaf French has the bitterness one expects from a darker roast profile, but not at the expense of drinkability.

This coffee is proof that sacrificing caffeine does not mean that one must also sacrifice flavor.

A note on how this coffee is decaffeinated from our sourcing partner Royal Coffee, based in Oakland, CA. SWP Decaf coffee is decaffeinated using the Swiss water process (SWP). In this method the green beans are pre-soaked in water to expand the beans for caffeine extraction. The beans are then introduced to green coffee extract (GCE), a solution concentrated with coffee that extract the caffeine without extracting the coffee’s particular flavor.
