Captain America #341 is a comic book published by Marvel Comics in 1988. The issue was written by Mark Gruenwald and illustrated by Tom Morgan and Dave Hunt. The story follows the team of Steve’s former partners Nomad, Falcon, and D-Man as they search for Steve Rogers in Washington state. Once they find him, they convince him to become a superhero again, but it’s not the Captain America costume! The issue also features the first appearance of The Captain (aka Steve Rogers) and the Serpent Society (Black Racer, Copperhead, Fer-de-Lance, Puff Adder).

In the first story, Steve Rogers pays a visit to Tony Stark’s Pacific mansion so the two men can discuss their unfinished business from the incident at the Vault. Tony Stark returns the adamantium shield, refusing to use something that was meant to bribe him while Iron Man could commit reckless crimes out of his self-centered need to keep his tech out of the hands of others. That decision forces Steve to take a significant handicap in the ensuing fight when he attempts to take Tony in for those crimes. Stark attempts to make the case for his mission, but fails to be convincing, so he uses his armor to disable his opponent and flies off after promising that Cap won’t be able to find him again until after his war is complete, and they can debate the ethics of it then. As he’s picking himself up, Steve ponders whether it’s worth continuing to chase Iron Man down at the cost of ignoring more urgent threats, and if he even has the power to confront the armor if he could find him. Bitterly, he accepts that he’ll have to let the rogue Avenger go for the time being.

In the second story, John Walker and Lemar Hoskins, the new Captain America and Battlestar, respectively, are on a mission to protect a speaker who is being threatened by the Right-Winger and Left-Winger. The speaker is a controversial figure who is speaking out against the government’s policies on the homeless. The two heroes are able to protect the speaker, but not before the Right-Winger and Left-Winger are able to escape.  Used.
